Summary
This briefing summarises insights from the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre's work over the last five year in tracking company disclosure and reporting trends in response to the UK Modern Slavery Act, passed in 2015. While recognising disclosure in these statements may not reflect the totality of a company’s efforts to prevent modern slavery (relevant practices and policies may not be included), transparency is essential to demonstrating whether a company understands its risks and is making efforts to mitigate, remediate and prevent them from reoccurring.
