Summary
This resource document sets out six key steps for private sector organizations to follow when seeking to identify potential third-party partners to enhance the effectiveness of grievance mechanisms, being a valuable resource to both VSS organizations and business or industry groups. This document was informed by desk-based research on the international standards and good practices in the operation and implementation of grievance mechanisms for private sector actors and complemented by interviews to better understand the needs of ISEAL community members and stakeholders in selecting and partnering with third parties in the implementation and operation of grievance mechanisms. Finally, the recommendations contained herein were also tested in three case studies to help the hypothetical user map and identify potential partners.
