Summary
This is the first annual report of the Copper Mark covering the period of December 2019 to April 2021. The Copper Mark’s first year of operations was marked by the launch of the Assurance Framework launched in March 2020, in the midst of the global Covid-19 pandemic. Despite challenging operating environments, the Copper Mark welcomed 17 mining, smelting or refining sites in our assurance framework in year one – exceeding our expectations. This encouraging level of early adoption shows the copper industry’s genuine commitment to responsible practices.
