Summary

This report shows how the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) saw growth in its certificate holder base during 2021 of 12% compared to 2020 numbers and extended its geographic reach to 33. The volume of SBP-certified biomass in the marketplace reached a record high at 6.70 million tonnes. SBP also was accepted as an ISEAL Community Member and its standards received a preliminary positive assessment against the biomass sustainability requirements of the recast EU Renewable Energy Directive (REDII).
