Summary

The study explores the impact of collective arrangements CAs, such as the Accord on Fire and building safety in Bangladesh and and Alliance for Bangladesh Worker safety , on wages and working hours. Using data collected by the Better Work program and mixed methods of analysis, the study finds significant positive effects on both on wages and working hours. However, attribution issues remain, as the presence of multiple CAs in the same factories prohibits any attribution of outcomes to a specific effort. They conclude that Further analysis should aim to distinguish impact measurement between different types of CAs, such as those that include participatory approaches versus those that do not
