Summary
This report focuses on the role of ecosystem restoration in halting and reversing nature loss. It presents the performance impacts of six global case studies of a range of ecosystem types, business models and financial instruments to highlight how private investments in restoration can overcome common financing barriers to restoration projects. While ecosystem restoration is principally funded by governments, international donors, and non-profit organisation, this report recommends opportunities to increase private investment through various commercial restoration models.
