Summary

This study evaluates the impact of Fairtrade International on Cocoa farmers in Peru, especially regarding price premiums, producer support and market access. The study finds positive developments regarding producer empowerment, however, finds it difficult to establish positive impacts on the sustainability of livelihoods and fairer trade stemming directly from engagement with Fairtrade international.
