Summary

This paper investigates the practices of oil palm smallholders in Sumatra, comparing these to the pracitces set by Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO). The findings show that implementation of ISPO-style crop management practices is low amongst smallholders, leading the authors to suggest development of a strategy to introduce ISPO practices for smallholders.
