Summary

This chapter describes the process of Marine Stewarship Council (MSC) certification of the South Georgia Patagonian toothfish fishery. Initial assessment was conducted between 2001 and 2002, however came up against a series of objections from the National Environmental Trust and The Antarctica Project. The fishery was certified in 2004 under revised conditions that came as a result of the appeals process.
