Summary
Fairtrade International monitoring and evaluation report, published in 2007, examines the effects of Fairtrade on farmers, workers, their families and on communities as a whole. The data was collected through Fairtrade's audits following a new evaluation system. The report finds that more than 70% of certified small producers are located in Latin America. Coffee is the most produced product by Fairtrade producers. Furthermore, the report shows that communities benefit from investments in community projects through earned Fairtrade premiums.
