Summary
Fairtrade International second monitoring and evaluation report, published in 2008, examines the effects of Fairtrade on farmers, workers, their families and on communities as a whole. The data was collected from 682 Fairtrade certified producer organisations audits in 2008. The report finds that a majority of certified small producers are located in Latin America and that coffee is the most produced product by Fairtrade producers. Furthermore, the report shows that the communities benefit from investments in community projects through earned Fairtrade premiums.
